Brio Cafe

Our cafe is tucked away in Qazi Galli, right near the Moti Mahal area of the Golconda Fort in Hyderabad. The house number is 9-11-119/13/2. It’s a historic part of town, so the streets are narrow and can be a bit tricky to navigate if you aren’t familiar with the turns. We open up the shop early to get the coffee machines warmed up. The smell of the beans starts to fill the space before the sun is even fully up. We spend a lot of time wiping down the wooden tables and making sure the sugar jars are full. Since we are so close to the fort, we get a lot of people who are tired from walking around the ruins and just want a place to sit for a minute. The walls are thick, which helps keep it a little cooler inside during the middle of the day when the sun is really hitting the pavement outside. We have a small kitchen in the back where we prep simple things. Sometimes the electricity flickers for a second, but it usually comes right back on. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights. We just have the menu written out and a few stools for people to use. Most of the time, we are just busy cleaning cups and talking to the regulars who live nearby. It’s a nice little spot to spend the day, even if it gets a bit cramped when the afternoon rush starts.
