Bhagya Laxmi Kirana And General Store

This store is located in Attapur, Hyderabad, right near Pillar Number 143 on Road Number 23B. Being near the big pillars of the expressway means there is always a lot of shadow and noise from the cars passing overhead. The shop is at Mig 201 and it’s a place where we keep all the regular stuff families need for their kitchens. I spend my mornings opening up the sacks of dal and rice and making sure everything looks okay. The street outside is usually very busy with people heading towards the city or coming back home. I have been here a long time and the shop has seen many changes in the neighborhood. I have a lot of plastic containers filled with different snacks sitting on the front counter because that’s what people grab the most. The floor is just simple cement and I sweep it several times a day to keep it clean. Sometimes the power goes out and I have to use a flashlight to find things for the customers in the back. It’s just me and occasionally a family member helping out when things get too hectic. I don't have any big signs or anything, just the items on the shelves and the regulars who know me by name. It’s a basic way to make a living and I’m used to the constant sound of the traffic and the smell of the city air.
