Shubham Pearls

Shubham Pearls is our little spot in Begumpet. We are at number 1-1-252. Begumpet is always moving, with cars and people everywhere at all hours, but once you step inside our door, it is a bit calmer. We have been here for many years. The shop is filled with pearls of all kinds and sizes. We spend most of our time sorting them by hand by size and color. It is very slow work and it takes a lot of patience. Sometimes the old air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, but it keeps us cool enough during the summer months. We are not a big corporate chain. It is just a family-run kind of place. We sit at the main table and work while customers look around the room. It is not very modern. We still use old ledgers for some of our bookkeeping because that is what we are used to doing. People come to us because they know where we are and that we have been here for a long time. We don't have any big sales pitches or fancy brochures. We just show what we have in the drawers and let people decide for themselves. Sometimes we share a cup of tea with a customer while they wait for us to finish something. It is a bit cramped with all the stock we have, but it feels lived in. Begumpet has changed a lot, but our corner stays the same.
