Vikas Metal Industries

We are located on Shivalayam Road, specifically in House No. 11-171 on the first floor. It’s Room No. 2, right near the masjid. You can hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which gives the place a nice rhythm. Being on the first floor means we have to carry everything up the stairs, which is quite a workout when you’re dealing with metal. The room is filled with tools and pieces of metal waiting to be worked on. It’s not a large space, so we have to be very careful about where we put things so we don’t trip over our own feet. The sound of grinding and cutting is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives here. We have a window that looks out over the street, but it’s usually covered in a bit of grime from the work we do. People come up the stairs looking for Vikas Metal and they usually find us by the sound before they see the door. It’s a practical setup for the kind of stuff we handle. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary; it’s just us in our work clothes dealing with the orders as they come in. Sometimes we have to move the bigger pieces out into the hallway just to have room to turn around. It’s tight, but we make it work every day in our room near the masjid.
