Being an assistant professor here in Narsipatnam means a lot of commuting and even more reading. I'm currently staying over in the 6th Ward with P. Ramalingachari. This part of the Vizag district is home for me, and I’ve been settled here for a good bit of time now. It’s a typical small-town vibe where everyone kind of knows where the landmarks are. My work usually involves heading out to the campus early in the morning and getting back late after classes finish up. I don't have a big corporate office or a polished front desk. It’s just a house in a regular street where I keep all my books and lecture notes piled up. Narsipatnam is a decent place to live, though it gets a bit hot during the summer months. I spend my weekends mostly catching up on research or just resting. The 53116 area is where I spend most of my time when I’m not in front of a classroom. People around here are friendly enough, and it’s a practical place to be based out of for my teaching duties. I didn't plan on being here forever, but things worked out this way and I've made a life of it. It’s not about being flashy or anything like that. I just focus on the students and making sure I’m ready for the next semester. Dealing with the daily grind is just part of the job description for me and I try to keep it simple.
