Asma Fabrications

Asma Fabrications is located at Plot No. 6-30-B in Baba Nagar. This is in the Nacharam area, which is full of small workshops like ours. We work mostly with iron and steel, so our shop is full of heavy pipes and metal sheets. It’s a loud place because there is always some cutting or grinding going on. The floor is made of rough stone and is usually covered in metal shavings. We don't have a proper office; just a small desk in the corner where we keep our measurements and some old bills. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so we often hang a tarp to get some shade. Being in Baba Nagar means we are surrounded by other people doing similar work. We often borrow tools from the neighbors or help them move heavy items. It’s a very practical environment. There aren't many decorations on the walls, just some old photos and maybe a clock that doesn't always show the right time. We work long hours, especially when we have a big order for window grills or gates. Our hands are usually stained with grease and dust by the end of the day. We don't use any fancy computer programs for our designs; we mostly just draw them out on scraps of paper or right on the metal itself. It’s hard work and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We usually close late in the evening after finishing up everything.
