Ashok Kirana Shop

Ashok Kirana Shop is located at 11-3-934/1/1 in New Mallepally, right across from the Priya Theatre. Being opposite the theatre means we see a lot of people coming and going, especially during the weekend show times. Our shop is a typical kirana store where we keep all the basic household goods like flour, oil, and biscuits. The building is part of the older landscape of Hyderabad 500001. We have been here long enough that we don’t really need a big sign for people to find us. The inside of the shop is packed with bags and boxes, and sometimes you have to step over a crate of soda to get to the counter. It’s just how it is when you have a lot of stock in a small space. We handle everything ourselves, from opening the shutters in the morning to locking up at night. There isn't any fancy technology here, just a simple notebook for accounts and a scale for weighing out the pulses. Customers usually shout out what they want from the door, and we go find it for them. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a small fan running behind the counter. We don't try to be anything special, just a place where you can grab your groceries without any fuss. It’s a local business run by local people who have been in this spot for years.
