Arun Metal Formers

Arun Metal Formers is tucked away in Shed No. 28 over at the T.I.E. in Bala Nagar. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of trucks and machinery in the air. We’ve been in this shed for a long time. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it pours, but we put a bucket under it and keep going. Metal forming is what we do, which means a lot of heavy machines and a lot of noise. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear nice clothes. We spend our time checking measurements and making sure the presses are working right. Bala Nagar is busy and it can get quite hot in the afternoons inside the shed. We usually have a fan going, but it mostly just moves the warm air around. There isn’t much to say about us that isn’t just about the work. We aren't trying to change the world. We’re just trying to make sure the parts we form are the right shape and size. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we’ve known each other for years. We share lunch and talk about our families. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have a fancy boardroom. If we need to talk, we just stand around one of the worktables. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble.
