Being in Ranigunj means you get used to the sounds of the market very quickly. Our place, Andhra Machine Tools Corporation, is located at Shop No 5 inside the Hari Ganga Market. The address is 5-5-54 and it stays pretty crowded around here from early morning until late evening. You have to navigate through a lot of traffic and other shops to find us. Secunderabad is always moving and we are right in the middle of that movement. Inside the shop, things are packed pretty tight with all the different machine tools. It’s not the kind of place where you sit down and have a long tea, usually we are standing up or moving things around to find what someone needs. The air smells a bit like metal and oil which is normal for a business like ours. We have been in this market for a while and the neighbors know us. Sometimes we stand out front for a minute just to breathe if the shop gets too stuffy. It’s a practical setup and we don't spend much time worrying about how the floor looks as long as we can find the tools. Work starts early because the market wakes up fast. By the time we close the shutters at night, our hands are usually a bit dirty. That is just how life goes for us here in Shop No 5.
