Ananad Namken & Cattering

This is Ananad Namken & Cattering. We’re run by J Ramrao, and we operate out of 13-3-1050/2/D in Keshava Swamy Nagar. That’s over in the Jiyaguda part of Asifnagar. It’s a family-run thing, really. We spend most of our time in the kitchen area, making snacks and getting food ready for events. The house is always smelling like spices and oil. It’s not a big factory or anything, just a local setup where we do everything by hand mostly. The neighborhood is a bit tight, with narrow streets, so getting the delivery van in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We’ve had to deal with the heat in the kitchen and the rush of orders during festival seasons. It gets pretty frantic around here then. We don't have a storefront where you can sit down and eat, it’s mostly just for making the food and sending it out. My father, J Madhava Rao, started some of this and we just kept it going. It’s honest work. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy labels. Most people just know us through word of mouth in Asifnagar. We just focus on getting the flavors right. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to dash to the market, but that’s just how it is running a small catering spot.
