Amit Steels

We've been operating Amit Steels from our place at 4-8-50/18 on Rang Mahal Road for years. If you know the Koti area or Putli Bowli, you know how crowded it gets around here. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal with all kinds of steel products, mostly for local builders or people doing their own house repairs. The stacks of metal take up most of our space, so it can be a bit tight when a new delivery comes in. We spend our days loading trucks and talking to customers who come in looking for specific sizes of rods or sheets. It's dusty work and your hands get dirty pretty fast, but we don't mind that. We aren't a big showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just a practical yard where we keep the stock. Sometimes the traffic on Rang Mahal Road makes it hard for the bigger trucks to get in, so we have to plan things out carefully. We've got a small crew who knows where every piece of steel is kept. We don't use much fancy technology, just some basic ledgers and a lot of talking on the phone. People come to us because we've been in this spot in Koti for so long. We just focus on keeping enough stock on hand so nobody leaves empty-handed. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. We're usually open early to get a head start on the traffic.
