We are at 263, Ramalayam Temple Street in Jubilee Hills. This is a very well-known part of Hyderabad 500033. Being on the same street as the temple means there is always something happening outside. You can hear the bells sometimes during the day. Our building fits right into the neighborhood. It is a place where people come to learn about how cities work, which is funny because we are right in the thick of a big city ourselves. The office is usually busy with people coming in to ask about classes or paperwork. We have desks and computers set up in a way that makes sense for the space we have. It’s not a huge campus with a football field, just a practical building for urban management studies. The staff at Amit School Of Urban Mgmt are regular people who know their way around Hyderabad. We often talk about the traffic or the new shops opening up nearby. Lunchtime means heading out to the small eateries around Ramalayam Temple Street. The energy here is quite high because of the location. Students often hang out on the steps or near the entrance between their sessions. It feels very connected to the street life outside. When the sun goes down, the temple lights come on and we finish up our work for the day. We head home through the same busy streets we study in class.
