Our place is on Fathenagar Main Road, at No. 10-3-61/B. If you come by, you’ll see lots of metal scraps and different types of alloys lying around. It’s an industrial area, so it’s never quiet. We mostly deal with buying and selling metal pieces that other businesses need. It’s a dirty job and our clothes are always marked with grease or metal dust. We don't have a fancy reception area. You just walk in and find us near the scales or the cutting machines. We’ve been working in Fathenagar for quite some time now and know most of the other shop owners on the street. Sometimes we get some really interesting pieces of old machinery in, and other days it's just piles of boring aluminum. The summer heat makes the metal almost too hot to touch, which is always a challenge. We have a small crew of three or four guys who do the heavy lifting. We don't use any big marketing tricks. We just weigh the metal, give a fair price, and move on to the next task. The bookkeeping is done in a dusty office at the back where the fan makes a lot of noise. It’s a simple life of trading and sorting. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just keeping the metal moving through the local supply chain. It gets very busy on Monday mornings when the trucks arrive, but we manage to get through it. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish sorting a big load of iron.
