We've been here at Gayatri Nagar for a while now. It's just a regular spot on the corner, at house number 33. Dealing with medicines and all that stuff every day is what we do. People come in with their prescriptions, and we just try to get them exactly what they need without making a big fuss about it. It gets really busy in the mornings when folks are heading to work. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow lane for a bit, which is a real pain for the neighbors, but we usually manage to clear it out fast. My cousin helps out behind the counter when it gets hectic, especially on Mondays. We don't have fancy neon lights or anything like that. Just the usual wooden shelves packed with boxes and bottles from floor to ceiling. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for directions to other houses in Gayatri Nagar since we're a known landmark. It’s a small operation. We keep track of everything in a big old ledger mostly, though there is a computer that we use for the newer stuff. The roof leaked a little last monsoon right near the front door, but we finally got it fixed with some new tiles. If you're walking down from the main road, you'll see our faded sign right there near the 9-4 block. We keep the small fridge running for the stuff that needs to stay cold. It’s not much to look at, just a place where folks get their pills and talk for a minute.
