About Akash International Residential School – Education in Hyderabad
Akash International Residential School takes up Plot No 189 and 190 in the Alwal area. Being a residential school, it’s a bit of a different world here. The kids stay with us, so the school never really sleeps. Early in the morning, around 6 am, you can hear the first stirrings in the dorms. The plots are quite large, so we have more space than the city schools. There’s a big area where the students play cricket in the evenings after their classes are done. The classrooms are separate from the living quarters. We have long corridors that get very breezy when the wind blows through Alwal. The dining hall is a busy place three times a day. You can smell the dal and rice cooking from a distance. The students have their own lockers, and you’ll often see their laundry hanging out to dry on the balconies. It’s a practical life. We have a schedule we follow, but things often get a bit off-track. Maybe a football game goes long or a study session turns into a chat. The teachers also stay on the grounds or very close by. It’s like a small village inside these two plots. We have a gatekeeper who knows everyone coming in and out. It’s just a place where students live and learn together, trying to get through their exams and growing up a bit every year. It feels like home for many of them.
