Ahmed And Company Unani Pharmacy

Our pharmacy is over at 21/2/77/9, right by Gulzar House. Most people around here just call us Ahmed And Company. It is an old building and we have been here for quite some time. The air inside always smells like herbs and dried roots because of the Unani medicines we keep. We have rows and rows of jars and boxes on the shelves. It is a bit of a maze if you do not know where things are, but we have our own system. People come in with all sorts of ailments looking for traditional remedies. We spend a lot of time weighing out powders or mixing things up behind the counter. It is a slow, careful process. We do not have a computerized checkout or anything flashy. We write everything down in the big ledger books. Sometimes it gets crowded in the small space, especially in the evenings when everyone is off work. We talk to the customers about what is bothering them and try to find the right preparation. It is a lot of tradition handed down through the years. We are not trying to be a modern supermarket. We just keep doing things the way they have been done here for generations. The floor is a bit worn from all the feet walking in and out. It is a humble place, but we take care of the people who come to see us. It is just how we operate.
