Our studio is right here in Osmangunj on Topkhana Road. If you know Hyderabad, you know this area is always moving and loud. Music Broadcast is basically what we do every day for Radio City 91.1Fm. The office is tucked away at 5-3-577. It’s a bit cramped with all the equipment and people coming in and out for their shifts. We’ve got DJs hanging around and technicians messing with the transmitters. It gets pretty noisy inside even before the music starts. The building is old but we’ve made it work for the radio gear. Sometimes the lift doesn't work right so we take the stairs. Most of the staff live nearby or commute through the heavy market traffic. We don't really do anything fancy here. It's just about getting the signal out and making sure the songs play when they are supposed to. Sometimes the rain makes things tricky with the antennas. We eat at the local stalls nearby during breaks. There’s always someone talking or humming a tune in the hallway. It’s a practical setup. We aren't trying to be some big corporate media hub. We are just local people running a radio station in a busy part of the city. We’ve been here long enough that the shopkeepers nearby know us by name. It’s just a job that involves a lot of noise and a lot of wires. We enjoy the chaos of the daily broadcast schedule and keeping the music going.
