Uppin Food Products

We are over at 18/1 on the 3rd Cross in Hosur, Hubballi. Uppin Food Products is basically a small production unit where we make and pack various snacks and food items. The area is quite residential, so we try to keep our noise down, although the smell of cooking sometimes drifts out into the street. We use traditional recipes that have been around for a while. Our kitchen isn't very big, but we have it set up so we can fry, dry, and pack things efficiently. It’s a lot of handwork. We have a few ladies from the neighborhood who come in to help with the sorting and the sealing of the packets. We don't have a big marketing department. Most of our products go to the local tea stalls and small kirana shops nearby. Sometimes we get people knocking on our door wanting to buy directly from us because they heard the snacks are fresh. We don't mind that, though it can get a bit hectic if we're in the middle of a big batch. We focus on using decent ingredients and making sure things are clean. The equipment is older, but we take good care of it. It’s a simple business that keeps us busy from early morning until the evening. We like being part of the community here in Hubballi.
