We’ve been based out of Plot No. 70 in the New Timber Yard at Unakal for quite some time now. It’s a busy area, especially in the mornings when the trucks start rolling in. Dealing with timber means there is always sawdust in the air and plenty of heavy lifting to do. Our days usually start early, getting things sorted before the sun gets too hot. Most people who come by are looking for specific sizes or types of wood for their own projects. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we store our stock and handle the daily paperwork at a small desk tucked in the corner. Sometimes the yard gets a bit crowded when a big shipment arrives, and we have to move everything around to make room. It can be noisy with all the activity around us in the timber yard, but we are used to it by now. We know most of the people who work nearby, and we see the same faces coming back quite often. The weather can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially when it rains and we have to make sure everything stays dry under the sheds. We try to keep things organized, though it's not always easy with so much wood coming and going. It is just a straightforward business, really. We spend our time checking logs, measuring planks, and making sure the orders are ready when people come to pick them up.
