Being at 200 Belilious Road in Howrah means dealing with a lot of noise from the street. Kadamtala is a crowded area, and our little school sits right in the middle of all that activity. It is a brick building that has been around for some time. We spend most of our mornings getting the rooms ready for the toddlers. The floors are painted a bright color, though they get scuffed up pretty quickly with all the little shoes running around. We don't have a giant playground, but there is enough room for the kids to play with their toys. The staff arrives early, usually when the air is still a bit cool. We keep the gate locked once the classes start to make sure no one wanders out into the busy road. Sometimes you can hear the horns honking from the trucks passing by, but the kids don't seem to mind much. Lunchtime is always a bit chaotic with food containers everywhere. We try to keep things organized, but with small children, there is always a bit of a mess to clean up at the end of the day. Our address is easy to find because most people in the neighborhood know where the old building is. It is just a simple place for kids to spend their day while their parents are at work in Howrah or Kolkata.
