You can find us at 51/2, Barui Para Lane in the Ramrajatala area of Howrah. It’s a typical Howrah neighborhood with narrow lanes and houses built very close together. We are tucked away from the main road, so you have to know where you’re going to find us. This isn’t a big fancy building with glass walls. It’s a practical space where we run various activities for people in the community. Sometimes it gets quite loud when there is a class going on, especially with the sounds of the street coming through the windows. Ramrajatala is a busy place, and there’s always something happening nearby. We have different rooms for different things, whether it's for kids to learn a skill or for some other gathering. The furniture is basic, mostly chairs and some tables that we move around as needed. We’ve been here at this address for a while, and most people in the Barui Para Lane know us. We don’t spend much time on decorations or looking slick. We just make sure the lights are on and the rooms are ready for whoever is coming in that day. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but it works for what we do. The rain can be a bit of a problem in this lane, but we just deal with the puddles and keep the doors open. We try to keep the fans working and the floors swept every morning.
