Sristi Boutique

You can find Sristi Boutique over at 38 Kaliprasad Kadamtala. We are tucked away in Howrah, specifically on Banarjee Lane. It’s one of those narrow streets where you have to watch out for the bikes and the occasional cow wandering through. The shop itself is part of an older building. We don’t have a big fancy glass front, just a regular door that stays open most of the time. Inside, it smells like fabric and maybe a bit of incense from the morning prayer. We spend a lot of time here just working on different pieces and talking to the ladies from the nearby houses. Howrah can be a bit loud and dusty, but inside the boutique, it’s usually quite calm. We have been in this spot for a bit and everyone knows us now. Sometimes people just stop in for a chat even if they aren't looking for anything. We don’t mind. It makes the day go faster. Banarjee Lane is a good place for a business like ours because people are always walking through to get to the main road. We don't do anything too fancy or high-tech. It is just sewing and measuring and picking out colors. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when the power goes out in the heat, but we make it through. It’s just a normal life for us here in Kadamtala. We like what we do and the people we see.
