Shree Balaji Fashion is tucked away on the 2nd floor of No. 180 MG Road. If you know MG Road, you know it’s one of the busiest places you can be. There’s constantly people, carts, and cars moving around. Being on the 2nd floor gives us a little bit of breathing room, though you still have to climb the stairs which can be a bit steep. Our workspace is usually covered in bits of thread and fabric samples. We have a few big tables where we spread everything out to see what we’re working with. It’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. The people who work here have been in the fashion trade for a long time. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing slogans. We just show up in the morning, drink some chai, and get to work. Most of our business comes from people who have been dealing with us for years. They know we are just a regular shop on MG Road. Sometimes the heat in the building is a lot to deal with, but we just keep the windows open and get on with it. We don't try to sound bigger than we are. We are just a small team on the second floor making clothes and trying to keep everything running smoothly. It’s a lot of work and long hours, but it’s what we do.
