Papyrus

I've been here in Howrah for a long time now. The shop, Papyrus, is right on Mahendra Bhattacharya Road in Santragachi. It isn't a huge place, just a regular shop where people from around here come when they need paper or school stuff. I remember when the road used to be much quieter than it is today. Now, there is always noise from the traffic outside. We keep things like notebooks, pens, and all that stationery you might need for the office or school. Sometimes students come in looking for a specific type of chart paper or a pen they saw somewhere, and we try to find it in the back if it's not on the shelf. It gets a bit dusty with the windows open, but that’s just how it is in this part of Howrah. My neighbor down the street usually stops by in the afternoons for a chat when things are slow. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It's mostly just shelves filled with what people actually use every day. I try to keep the prices fair because I know everyone around here. Running a small business like this means you don’t really get days off, but I like seeing the same faces every week. It’s a simple life for us. We just stay open until the evening and then head home.
