About Nandani- A House Of Boutique Sarees – Fashion & Trends in Howrah
You can find us at Gagananchal Market, right at 37 Dr. Abani Dutta Road. It’s a busy spot, especially in the afternoons when the market really wakes up and the crowd starts coming in. I started Nandani because I always liked looking at different fabrics and how the weaves come together. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights. It’s more of a traditional shop where you can sit down, have some water, and look through the stacks of cloth. We get sarees from different weavers, mostly stuff that feels good to wear in this heat. Cotton, silk, and some mixed fabrics fill up the shelves. It gets a bit crowded in here when a few families come in at once, but we manage somehow. My staff and I spend a lot of time folding and refolding everything because customers like to touch the material, which is fair. Sometimes we get new stock and the whole floor is covered in plastic wrap for a few hours while we sort things. Dr. Abani Dutta Road is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting, but inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of fabric moving and voices. We’ve been in this market for a while, so we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. We don't do much fancy marketing. People just know we have a good variety of boutique pieces. It’s a lot of work keeping track of what’s in fashion, but we try to keep things that people actually want.
