N. H. Garments

Our place is out in Makardah, right near National Highway 6. Most people know us because we are so close to the Tasty Ice Cream Factory. On hot days, we sometimes wish we worked there instead! But here we are at N. H. Garments, working with clothes instead of cold treats. The highway is always noisy with trucks zooming past, but we’ve gotten used to the sound. Our building is simple and serves its purpose. We spend our days cutting fabric and checking orders. Being near the highway makes it easy for the delivery vans to find us, though the traffic can be a nightmare on Monday mornings. The air around here is a mix of dust and the smell from the factory nearby. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to finish our batches and make sure everything is packed right. The team here is small, and we mostly just get on with it. We drink a lot of tea while we work. It’s a practical life. If you’re driving down the NH6 and pass the ice cream spot, you’re basically there. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Just a work floor and some storage space. It’s a local business run by local people who have been in Makardah for a long time. The gates are usually open and the staff is busy moving boxes around the yard.
