Raj Laxmi Furniture is located in Mohiary. It’s a local spot where we spend our days around wood and saws. The shop usually smells like fresh sawdust and varnish. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a workshop where we actually build the pieces. Mohiary is a quiet enough place, and we’ve become part of the local scenery here. We make tables, chairs, and whatever else people ask for. Sometimes the wood arrives in big planks and we have to figure out the best way to use it. It’s hard work and it gets dusty, but that’s the job. We don’t use a lot of fancy machinery; a lot of it is done with hand tools and a bit of patience. We don’t have a website or a marketing team. If you want to see what we do, you just have to come down to Mohiary. We show people the pieces we’re currently working on. There are always wood shavings on the floor. We try to keep things sturdy and simple. People come to Raj Laxmi Furniture because they want something that lasts, not something that looks good for a week and then breaks. We just focus on the joinery and the finish. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us working through the orders as they come in. We don't hurry much, just try to get the edges smooth.
