J N Mukherjee Road is usually busy with traffic. Our office sits at number 144/145/78, right in the middle of it. This is a partnership among a few of us here. Kanti Swarup Mantry takes care of most of the details. Being in Uluberia, we are right in the heart of Howrah. The seeds we handle are meant for the local farmers nearby. It isn't a fancy business by any means. Most of the time is spent checking stock or talking on the phone with suppliers. Since the weather in West Bengal is often humid, we have to ensure the seeds stay dry and good. Our LP number is 67/12 if you are trying to find the exact spot. There is no big logo or a shiny front door to greet you. It’s just a practical place of work. We started this because we saw a real need for quality seeds in this part of the district. Sometimes the paperwork for the LLP is a bit of a chore. We much prefer being out and talking to the people who actually use our products. Sentence lengths vary because that's how we talk. There is no corporate polish here. Just a few regular people running a seed business from a simple office. We don't bother with advertising since word of mouth works better. We keep all our records in big ledgers because it feels more solid that way. Most days are quiet unless a new planting season is about to start.
