Golden Engineering Enterprises

You can find us over in the Kamardanga area of Pallabpukur, which is in Santragachi, Howrah. This is one of those old industrial neighborhoods where there’s a workshop around every corner. We have been here for quite some time, operating as Golden Engineering Enterprises. It’s a very local feel in this part of Howrah, with narrow streets and lots of people walking around. Our shop isn't very large, but we have enough space for the tools and machines we need. Most of the work we do is for other small businesses or individuals who need something made or repaired. The sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our days. It gets a bit crowded inside when we have a lot of materials delivered, but we make it work. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist; you just walk in and talk to whoever is available. Everyone here knows how to handle the machinery and we mostly learn by doing. The weather in Howrah can be quite damp, especially during the monsoon, which makes the metal work a bit tricky sometimes. But we’ve lived here all our lives and we know how to deal with it. It’s just a normal, everyday engineering shop where we try to do a decent job.
