Ganpati Snacks

Ganpati Snacks is located right on the busy stretch of G. T. Road in Shibpur. If you find the Jain Hospital, you are pretty much there since we are just a few doors down at 493B. It is a noisy spot with all the trucks and rickshaws going past, but it keeps things interesting. We spend most of our time in the back preparing various snacks and making sure everything is packed up right. The smell of oil and spices usually hangs heavy in the air by midday. It’s a small team here and most of us have been working together for years. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just focus on the frying and the bagging. The floor gets a bit greasy sometimes and we are always cleaning up after a big batch is finished. It’s a fast-paced environment because people always want their snacks fresh and ready to go. On some days, the heat from the stoves makes the front shop feel like a furnace, but we just open the fans up and keep moving. We don't really have a big corporate story to tell anyone. We just show up every morning, check the ingredients, and start the day's work. It’s a simple living and it keeps us busy from dawn until we pull the shutters down at night. Most of our regulars are just people from the neighborhood who know our routine.
