Care Concern Hospital

Our building is at 87/A right on G T Road in Serampore. If you know this area, you know how loud the trucks can get. We’ve been here at this spot for quite some time now. The hospital is basically just where we spend most of our lives. We have different floors for different things, and the elevator sometimes takes a second to respond. The floors are that old-fashioned tile that’s seen a lot of feet over the years. Staff shifts usually swap around eight, and that's when the lobby gets the most crowded. We have a lot of benches for families to sit on while they wait. Sometimes the rain hits the windows pretty hard during monsoon, and we have to make sure the back door is shut tight. It isn’t a quiet place, especially with the horns honking outside on G T Road. We just keep our heads down and do the paperwork. There’s a lot of files to manage every single day. The lights in the hallway are a bit bright, but you get used to them after a few hours. We don’t have any fancy signs inside, just some printed papers taped to the walls to show people where to go. It’s a busy life here in Serampore, and we are just part of the daily routine for this part of town. Most of us take the train in or walk from the nearby residential lanes.
