You can find my place at 24/1 S N Banerjee Lane, over in the Rangkal and Tant area of Howrah. It’s a part of town that has its own rhythm and feel. I’ve been working from this address for a long time. It’s a simple building and my office is tucked away inside where it's a bit quieter. I don’t really see the point in having a flashy office just for show. I’d rather put that effort into the actual work I do for people. Most of my days are spent right here, dealing with whatever comes up in the mail or over the phone. Sometimes it’s quiet, and other times it’s a bit of a madhouse with people coming and going. I don’t have a big staff, so I end up doing a lot of the small stuff myself, like answering the door or making the tea when someone visits. It keeps me busy and I like knowing exactly what is happening in my business at all times. The lane outside can be narrow and a bit crowded with traffic, but that’s just part of the charm of this area. I know my neighbors and we all look out for each other. I don’t use any complicated systems or fancy technology if I can avoid it. A pen and paper often work just as well for me. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, but it has served me well.
