Chadda Bricks

Chadda Bricks is located at Word No. 11, Plot No. 388 in Urmar Tanda. We are easy to find because we are near the Shiv Temple. People use the temple as a guide to get to our yard. It’s a good spot to be in, surrounded by the community. The bell from the temple rings often, and it’s a sound we’ve grown very used to while we work. Our plot is quite large to hold all the bricks we make. We spend most of our time out in the sun, making sure everything is drying correctly. Urmar Tanda is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else. We often have people stopping by just to chat for a minute while they are out on their errands. Our setup is very basic. We have the brick-making area and then a small shed where we keep our tools and some tea supplies. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when we have a big batch of clay being mixed. We don’t mind the dirt though, it’s part of the job. We keep our records in a simple notebook and try to stay organized as best we can. The work is physical and tiring, but seeing the stacks of finished bricks makes it feel worth it at the end of the day. We are just local folks doing what we know how to do.
