This is the Government Arts And Commerce Post Graduate College here in Harda, Madhya Pradesh. It’s a pretty large building, and you can see it from a distance. We have a lot of students coming and going throughout the day, so the hallways are rarely quiet. It’s an old-fashioned kind of place with high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors that creak a bit. We don’t have all the latest high-tech gadgets in every room, but we have what we need to get the teaching done. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-empty tea cups. We spend a lot of time talking about schedules and exams. It’s not a corporate office; it’s a place of learning, so things can be a bit chaotic during enrollment or finals week. The grounds around the college are okay, though the grass could use a bit more water in the summer months. Most of us have been here for years, and we’ve seen generations of local kids pass through these doors. We don’t use fancy slogans to attract people. The students come here because it’s the local college and it’s where they can study their subjects. It’s a practical environment. We focus on the books and the lectures and trying to make sure everyone stays on track. It’s just a regular part of life here in Harda for many families, and we just keep doing what we do.
