S.R.Batliboi &Co., Kolkata(Indianpartner Of Ernst & Young)

Our office is over on 41, New Station Road. It's in the Bhadrakali area of Hooghly. Some people know us as S.R. Batliboi & Co., though we are the Indian partner for Ernst & Young too. It’s a busy part of town with people always heading to the station. We’ve been here for quite some time now, dealing with all kinds of accounting and audit work. The address is pretty easy to find if you are familiar with the 712232 area. We sit at our desks most of the day, looking at spreadsheets and long lists of numbers. It’s not the most exciting work for everyone, but it’s what we do. We have a lot of files piled up. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough space for all the paper. We just get on with it. We don't have a big sign out front that glows or anything. Just a regular professional space where the work gets done. There are several of us working here together. We drink a lot of tea while we go through the audits. It’s a local office but we handle big things because of the EY connection. Still, the vibe inside is just us working hard. If you are coming from the station, it’s just a short walk. We don't really do much marketing. We just let the work speak for itself. It is a very busy street but inside it is mostly quiet work.
