If you take the stairs up to the first floor at 209 New Station Road, you’ll find D N Gupta Associates. We are right in the Bhadrakali area of Hooghly. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but we’ve been here a long time. Our office is filled with stacks of files and books because that’s the nature of our work. We spend a lot of time reading through documents and writing up reports. It’s quiet work, mostly, though the sound of the trains from the station nearby is always there in the background. We don't have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine that makes lattes. If you want tea, we send someone down to the corner. We help people with their paperwork and technical questions without making it too complicated. People come to us because they want someone who will actually listen to their situation. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just us, focusing on one task at a time. The windows look out over the street, so we see the daily life of Bhadrakali passing by while we work. We don't use much marketing because our reputation in the district usually brings people in. It’s a steady pace of work, and we like the feeling of finishing a file and putting it away. We just try to be useful and do a good job for the folks around here.
