Sashyashree Agri Processing Private Limited is located in Kastodahi village, over in the Hooghly district. We use Jagannath Das’s place as our base of operations. The post office is Bolundi, and we’ve been here for a while now. Our main thing is agri processing, which is basically taking what comes from the farms and getting it ready for whatever comes next. It’s a lot of dusty work and long days. We aren't some big industrial factory. It’s more of a local operation where a few of us get together to process the crops. Hooghly has good soil, so there is always something to work on. The office part is just a desk and some files at Jagannath’s house. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff. Most of our business happens through word of mouth and people we’ve known for years. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the whole day fixing them instead of working. That is just how it goes when you’re running a small processing unit in a village like Kastodahi. We try to keep things simple and honest. We don’t make big promises. We just process the grain or the vegetables as they come in. It is a local business run by local people who understand the land and the work that goes into it, and we are fine with that.
