We are located at 69B Arabinda Road in Konnagar. Nanda Dulal Chowdhury & Co. has been around for quite a while. It’s an old building, but it’s sturdy. Most people know the family name in this area. We handle various bits of paperwork and consulting for the local community. It isn't a high-tech office with glass walls. We have wooden desks and a lot of old books on the shelves. Sometimes the fan makes a clicking sound that drives us crazy, but we forget about it once we get busy. People come in with their problems, usually related to taxes or property, and we sit down and talk through it over some tea. It's a slow-paced kind of place compared to the big city firms. We prefer it that way. You get to know the stories behind the names on the files. My father started things here, and we just kept the tradition going. The street outside is usually quiet until the schools let out in the afternoon. We don’t do any big advertising campaigns. Usually, someone’s neighbor tells them to come see us when they are in a bit of a bind. We just try to get the work done right so there aren't any headaches for anyone later on. It’s a simple living for us. We open up early and usually leave by six, unless it’s the busy season. Then we’re here much later than we would like to be, honestly.
