Minoti Computer Education

We are situated over at 8/E Chila Khana Road in Serampore, right in the middle of Chila Khana Lane near Mullick Para. Minoti Computer Education is where a lot of local folks from Binod Behari Pally come to learn the basics of how to use a PC. We have a room filled with desks and older monitors that hum when you turn them on. It isn't a high-tech lab, just a simple place with enough computers for everyone to have a seat. You can usually hear the sound of typing and the occasional beep of a system starting up. We spend a lot of our time explaining things and showing people where to click. The chairs aren't the most comfortable, but they do the job for an hour or two. We have some posters on the walls about keyboard shortcuts that have started to curl at the edges. Outside, the lane is narrow and sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing cricket nearby. In the afternoons, it gets a bit sleepy, but then the evening classes start and the place fills up again. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s just a few rooms where we keep the machines running and try to make sure everyone understands what they are doing. It’s a plain, practical setup for anyone in the Serampore area who wants to get some practice on a keyboard without any pressure.
