Eatas Fishery Private Limited is located in Haydarpur, which is in the Hooghly district. We are near the Baduria and Bagjola areas. The business is run by our family, and it has been that way since Alhaj Md Rafikul Islam set things up. We are very much a local operation. Most of our work happens out by the water, managing the fish ponds and checking on the stocks. It is not a fancy life. We spend a lot of time in our boots, dealing with mud and water. The weather in Hooghly can be unpredictable, and heavy rains can really mess with the pond levels. We do not have a big corporate office with air conditioning. Our office is often just wherever we happen to be standing at the pond side. We sell our fish to the local markets and wholesalers in the area. It is a simple life but it is demanding. You cannot take a day off because the fish need to be checked and fed every single day. We do not use any complicated marketing strategies. We just rely on the quality of what we produce and the relationships we have built with other people in the neighborhood. Our address in Uttar Para is where we live too, so the work and home life are pretty much the same thing. We just keep doing what we have been taught, making sure the business stays healthy for the next generation.
