We have been here at 108-A in S.K. Nagar for quite some time now. Hooghly is where we do all our work, mostly dealing with paper, ink, and the machines that sometimes act up when we have a lot to get through. It is a regular print shop where things get dusty and the smell of fresh ink is just part of the day. People come in with all sorts of requests, some small and some that take us all night to finish. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a workspace with some sturdy tables and printers that keep us busy from morning till late. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine needs a part we have to wait for, but that is just how it goes here. We handle the files people bring us, try to get the colors right, and make sure the edges are cut straight. It’s not always quiet, especially when the big machines are running at full speed. Most of our days are spent checking proofs and refilling paper trays. West Bengal can get quite humid, which sometimes makes the paper curl, so we have to watch out for that. We just focus on getting the stacks of paper out the door so people can get on with their own work. It is honest work and it keeps us on our toes.
