Vardhman Rice Mills

Vardhman Rice Mills is located out in Village Dhurkhara, right along Hisar Road. Being in a village setting means we are close to the source of the rice, which makes things a bit easier for the local farmers. The mill is a sturdy building that’s seen a lot of use over the years. We spend a lot of time on Hisar Road, watching for the trucks and tractors coming in from the surrounding fields. It’s a quiet area compared to the city, but it gets very busy during the harvest season. We have a lot of space for drying the grain out in the sun when the weather is right. Inside the mill, it’s a different story with all the noise of the motors and the belts spinning. We do everything from cleaning the paddy to bagging the finished rice. It’s dirty work, and we’re usually tired by the time we lock up for the night. We don't have any fancy signs or big advertisements. Most people just know the mill is here and they bring their stuff by when it's ready. We’ve lived and worked in Dhurkhara for a long time, so we know most of the people who come through our doors. It’s just a practical, local business focused on getting the rice ready for people to eat. There’s no mystery to it, just hard work and a lot of grain.
