Kamal Salad Specialist

We are out on Kanganpur Road in Sirsa. It’s a bit of a busy stretch of road these days. Kamal Salad Specialist isn’t your typical eatery because we mostly focus on fresh stuff rather than cooked meals. Most of my day is spent with a knife in my hand, chopping up cucumbers, tomatoes, and radishes for the orders. My hands usually smell like onions by the time I go home to my family. It’s a small shop, more like a stall with some space for people to stand and wait while we prep their items. We get the vegetables from the local mandi very early in the morning. If the quality isn't good that day, I have a bit of a hard time making things look right. People in Sirsa like their food, and we just provide the fresh side stuff that goes with their main meals. The floor is often wet from washing the greens and the vegetables. It’s just me and my nephew helping out on the busy days. We don't have fancy packaging, just simple plates or plastic bags. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, so it gets quite bright and warm inside. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name painted above. Sometimes people ask why we only do salads, but it’s what we know how to do best. It is a simple way to make a living. The Kanganpur Road traffic is constant outside.
