About Fertilizers Fertilizer – Agriculture & Farming in Hisar
We are based in Bhattu Mandi in Hisar. Our shop is quite close to the Electricity Board, so people use that as a landmark. Being in a mandi means our life follows the seasons of the farmers. When it’s time to plant, we are incredibly busy. The shop is filled with heavy bags of fertilizer stacked high. There is a specific earthy smell to the place that you get used to after a day or two. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers about their crops and what they are seeing in the fields. It’s a very local way of doing business. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly; we still use a lot of paper ledgers and handwritten notes. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the bags, and we have an old bench outside where people sit and chat. Hisar gets very hot in the summer, so we have a cooler running most of the time to keep the place bearable. We aren't trying to be a big corporate entity. We are just a local supplier helping out the folks who grow the food. It’s honest, tiring work, especially when you’re loading bags onto a tractor under the sun. But we’ve been here for a long time and we like the community. Dealing with the suppliers and the weather is part of the job, and we take it as it comes.
