Ambika Rice Mills

We run Ambika Rice Mills right here on Dabwali Road in Guru Sar Sahnewala. It’s been our daily life for quite some time now. Most mornings start pretty early when the sun is barely up because there is always something to fix or get ready before the workday really kicks off. Dealing with rice involves a lot of waiting on the weather and making sure the machines are actually doing what they are supposed to do. Our spot on Dabwali Road gets a lot of traffic, mostly trucks and tractors coming and going throughout the season. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular mill with plenty of dust and noise. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard checking on things. Sometimes the electricity acts up, which is just how it goes around here, and we have to adjust. People know where we are because we’ve been at this location for a good while. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most folks just stop by because they see the sign or they’ve dealt with us before. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when the harvest is in full swing. We just keep the gears turning and try to stay on top of the piles of grain coming in. There isn't much more to it than that. Just a local business trying to keep things moving along Guru Sar Sahnewala. We like the area well enough, even if the road gets a bit crowded.
