We started Ujwala Masale out of our home area in Vidya Nagar. It's in Basmat, and we’ve been here for a while now. Most of what we do here involves grinding spices that people use in their kitchens every day. Hingoli is a quiet place and we like being part of it. My family and a few neighbors help out with the work. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. We just have some machines set up to handle the chili and turmeric. It gets dusty sometimes but that is just part of the job. Vijayprakash, who stays at A/464, keeps an eye on the daily stuff and makes sure the bags are filled right. People around here know where we are if they need something for their cooking. We don't spend money on fancy ads because most folks just hear about us from their cousins or friends. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait to finish a batch, but we get it done eventually. It is just a small business trying to keep going in our town. We try to keep things clean and simple. You won't find anything complicated here, just the usual spices handled by people who live right down the street. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We are glad to be working in our own neighborhood instead of traveling far for jobs. That's pretty much how we run things every day. We usually close up when the sun goes down and start again early the next morning.
