Prabhakar Traders

Prabhakar Traders is right at Gandhi Chowk. It is a real busy spot, especially being so close to Jawahar Road. You can find us near the Veywhara Kiraan Shop and where Laxmikant Visvanath is. There is always a lot of noise and people moving around out there. We spend our days trading goods and keeping the records straight. We don't have any of those fancy modern offices you see in the city. It is just a simple place with some shelves and a few desks. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the fans on high and try to stay cool. People come in and out all day, some to do business and others just to say hi. Gandhi Chowk is like that; everyone knows everyone else. We have been here for a long while now and we know the rhythms of the street. We don't bother with all that corporate talk because it just isn't us. We're just local folks trying to make a living and keep things running smooth. The floor is just plain concrete and the walls are covered in stock. It is a practical place for the kind of work we do. If you're ever passing through the chowk, you’ll probably see us there in the middle of all the commotion. We start early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s just how we do things here and we like it that way.
