Santosh Sai Manikanta Fancy & General Stores

Our place, Santosh Sai Manikanta Fancy & General Stores, is located at 59-7-9/A in the Malkapuram area of Visakhapatnam. It is a bit of a long name for a shop, but we have a bit of everything here. Being a "fancy" and general store means we carry things like ribbons and bangles along with the usual household soaps and snacks. The 530011 area is where we have set up, and it’s a typical residential neighborhood. The shop has glass counters where we keep the smaller items so they don't get lost or broken. It takes a lot of time to keep those counters clean, but it helps people see what we have. We don't have a big warehouse, so everything we buy goes right onto the floor or the shelves. Sometimes the aisles get a little thin because of all the buckets or containers we have for sale. It’s just how a neighborhood store looks when you try to provide variety. We like being in Malkapuram because the people are friendly and they appreciate having a shop close by. We don't do any big advertising, people just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a busy, cluttered, but useful little shop. We try to remember everyone's face, though it gets hard when the evening crowd comes in. Most of our days are spent just keeping the shelves stocked and the counter moving.
