Kudrat Bricks & Block Inudstries

The trains go by at all hours, and you kind of get used to the vibration after a few weeks of working here. We’ve been at this spot in Prantij for a good while now, right near the station. Sabarkantha gets really dry in the summer, which helps with the bricks but makes the work harder for the guys out in the sun. We spend most of our time out in the yard checking the stacks. It’s not a clean job, you get mud on your boots and dust in your hair by noon. There’s a tea stall just down the road where we go when the heat gets too much. Most days it’s just about getting the trucks loaded and making sure the numbers match up for the deliveries. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small desk and some old chairs where people sit when they come to talk about orders. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog wanders in looking for some shade under the bricks. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The railway station is so close you can hear the announcements from the platform if the wind is blowing the right way. It’s a busy corner of town, but we like it here because everyone knows where to find us. No fancy signs or anything, just the bricks piled up high. It's just a regular life for us here.
