Ramgarhkisan Producer Company Limited is a local outfit run from Bansgarha in Ramgarh. We use a space provided by Pushan Mahto, who is the son of Rikhi Mahto. It’s a family-oriented area, and we fit right in. We started this company because the farmers around Ramgarh needed a way to organize. We aren't business experts; we are people who know the land. Most of our days are spent checking on the crops or talking to the other members about what needs to be done next. The office at Bansgarha is where we keep the stamps and the registers. It’s nothing special to look at, just a practical room where the business of the company gets handled. Pushan Mahto is usually around to help keep things running smoothly. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures. Word of mouth is how most people find us. We deal with the realities of farming life every day. Sometimes the water is low, or the pests are bad, and we have to figure it out together. It’s a basic, honest way to live and work. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We are just the Ramgarhkisan group, working out of a small village spot, trying to do right by the people who grow our food. It’s a bit dusty and the chairs might creak, but the work is real. We just keep moving forward with our daily tasks and help each other out when the seasons change.
